Little Me

As a follow up to last week's posts about heirloom sewing, here is a photo of me as a little girl (in the mid 1980's) in a French Handsewn dress that was done ...totally by hand... by my mother. There is beautiful embroidery at the top as well (hard to see in the pic) and the slip underneath is also done and embroidered by hand. This dress is now preserved in an acid-free box at my parent's home... in hopes that my baby girl will wear it someday, and have her picture taken in it as well. That is the great thing about heriloom sewing... they truly are heirlooms passed down from generation to generation.
P.S. Thanks to my beautiful, sweet sis-in-law for the "fixing" my photo for me!
Much love,
Jennifer
