This weekend was fabulous! It was funny how we just slipped right back into our normal weekend routine, without a hitch, even though we haven't "practiced" in several weekends. Saturday morning pancakes, Andy letting me sleep late, staying in our pajamas until 11, Andrew being Daddy's caboose.... all those wonderful ordinary things that make our lives OURS. We had a wonderful time at church and worship service yesterday, and all too soon, it was time to take Andy back to the airport. We all shed a few tears, prayed for safety, and came back home to a house that seemed alot emptier than it did just a few hours before. And here we are at the beginning of another week. And I have remind myself that each day is a gift from God, and I shouldn't "wish the days away" (as much as I want to) but enjoy them. So I am. And then I remembered the poignant words on a magnent that Mama had on the refrigerator when we were growing up... words that I read 1,000 (or more!) times.
"Life is what happens when you're making other plans". And so it is.
Happy Monday and
Much Love,
Jennifer

Jennifer, I'm so glad that you and your family had a wonderful weekend. I will always keep you and your family in prayers for strength and protection. Before you know it, Andy will be back in your arms and it will be like he never left. In a way I am glad that my husband has to leave sometimes. It helps make our marriage stronger and cherish every second God gives us together. Remember as much as you are thinking of Andy he is thinking of you and probably more~ I hope you and your little cutiepie's have a wonderful day and week! Love & Prayers, Mrs.Clark
That is a great quote to remember...I always have to remind myself to slow down and savor each day.
Blessings,

HUGS to you!!! Happy you enjoyed the weekend....When will he be back home again? It's hard when we miss them so much but you're right....life does go on and we need to cherish the little moments.
Blessings,
Becky
Thanks. :D
I am so glad that you were able to enjoy some time with Andy! What a special treat!
Blessings.
Jennifer, I am so happy for you that you got to spend some time with your husband and you could all enjoy some wonderful family time. I loved that quote, I had never heard it. How true!
Those words are sooo profound. We did this very same thing 2 years ago. The difference is my DH was training in Hattiesburg and we live in Starkville. So every time he had a day or 8 hour pass we were in the car heading down there. I can not tell you the emotions your posts stir up. I remember those days so well. I am praying for your family. I know how hard this can be. I memorized and clinged to 1Cor. 10:13.
Blessings,
Trixi
Oh Jennifer I shed a few tears for you just now. I will keep praying for your hubby's safety and your peace of mind and comfort. Blessings. Sarah
I love that quote too... The days can be long indeed but the years go by way too fast. Hang in there... I'll be praying for you. :)
