Antique Doorknobs

There are alot of cool things that you can do with antique doorknobs ! About 5 years ago, my daddy made me this great shelf using antique doorknobs and a piece of crown molding from an old home that had been demolished. (We found the items at a flea market). I had seen a similar shelf in Pottery Barn but it was over $100 (and for only 3 knob hangers!). Soooo... he painted the molding white, used dowel rods to attach the doorknobs and Viola! My shelf (and for only about $20.oo ! When our son was born, we put it in his room and now I use it to hang his "fancy" bags on and a few pieces of clothing. I get lots of compliments on it- and want to find the materials to do one for baby girl's room- and this time I have a sweet hubby to do it!!
Mrs. Wilt at The Sparrow's Nest has some GREAT ideas for hanging pics with vintage hardware- gave me inspiration to do this post!

Jennifer,
I LOVE IT! I have been wanting a small rack to hang in our home and hadn't found one. Now I know just what to do! :o)

Thank you for the inspiration- and for the kind mention!

In His joy,

What a wonderful idea. Thank you for sharing. My house is completely empty right now, and hubby and I have been looking through magazines trying to figure out how to decorate it. This idea is definitely a keeper.
